Mexico, We Love You

Two summers ago my mom and I took a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with some friends of ours. We had a direct flight there so it was about a three hour flight. It was my first time being out of the country so I was so stoked! One of our friends family members owned a condo at the Paradise Village Beach Resort and Spa so we stayed there. It was such a great resort and had everything we needed right there. The beach, shopping centers, pools, restaurants… If anyones ever been to a resort you know how it is, very “resorty” (you know what I mean). We wanted to venture out a little bit to actually see some of the culture and really experience Mexico!

The second day we were there we took a cab into the city to walk along the ocean and see all the shops. We went in July so it was hot and extremely humid! We ended up buying hand fans as soon as we got there because of how hot it was! Most of the shops were just tourist shops and small vendors, but it was a cool thing to see. There were so many restaurants and I wanted to try all of them. I love Mexican food, so I was basically in heaven.

We went to the beach a few times which was also really cool because it was the first time I had swam in the ocean! We also set aside a day so we could go on a zip lining excursion. We went through Vallarta Adventures and had such a blast! The bus picked us up and we had about an hour long drive up to the canopy. I’m telling you guys, this is the best zip lining excursion you will ever go on! The instructors for this were so fun, and it’s not a short excursion which I liked. It wasn’t just one long zip line, it was a series of zip lines. One even went directly over a river and it was so beautiful to see! When we were done they had a restaurant below where we all got margaritas! They also had a rock formation in the river where you could swim and go off natural water slides. I didn’t bring my swimsuit or I would have gone swimming, so if you go make sure you bring one!

Another great part about this trip is that we celebrated my moms birthday while we were there. It was so nice getting to spend time with her, away from everything back home. This was a great trip and I recommend it to anyone who has a hankering for adventure!

The condo we stayed at was right next to the marina, so right when we got there my momma and I decided to check it out!img_0156img_0231img_0241img_0251img_0377
Obviously didn’t get too much sun on our trip.
We went to this restaurant called Fajita Republic, and it was the best you guys! They were so kind and the food was amazing! They even let us name their “pet” iguana!

I loved Mexico so much, and getting to have a girls trip was such a blast! I’m definitely wishing I was back at the beach right about now! Until next time Puerto Vallarta!

Love, Kaite.
