Wicklow Mountains

Hello again from Ireland! I’ve been so bad lately about accidentally posting unfinished posts! I usually throw together all the photos and plan to write something later on, but recently I’ve been scheduling all my posts so I stay on top of it! Turns out I was sick the entire week and I totally forgot to push back all the scheduled posts a few days. So…if you are wondering why they keep showing up and then disappear from the blog, thats why!

Anyways, today I’m sharing a few photos from when I went to the Wicklow Mountians. When I’m not traveling around the rest of Europe on the weekends, I’m usually exploring Ireland! The best way to see Ireland (if you don’t have a car) is definitely by going on tours. I’ve done quite a few since I’ve been here, and they’ve all been pretty great! Here is the tour that we went on to the Wicklow Mountains.

Even though it was insanely windy and rainy, I had such a fun time. I swear Ireland is the most beautiful place in the world, regardless of the weather. We hiked up a hill off the eastern coast and it was so amazing. you could see the ocean and all the little villages along it. We even saw Bray (you can read my post on that here), which was really cool being able to see it from such a high view!

We also went up into the Wicklow mountains (obviously hah) which was amazing. We got to see a few places where some scenes from a couple really famous movies were shot which was so awesome. The last stop on our tour was Glendalough. Glendalough is basically a big valley with two lakes in it. There is a trail that loops around both of the lakes and the views are unbelievable! IMG_4470

These pictures do it absolutely no justice. The view was sooo beautiful!

Celine and I…two peas in a pod ❤

It was so windy but of course we couldn’t pass up the opportunity for a good selfie!

How do people take jumping photos without ALWAYS getting there hair in their face?!

A few scenes from Braveheart were filmed here and I just keep thinking how cool it was that I got to actually go and see this place. I swear Ireland amazes me every day.

You can’t really tell by this photo, but it was POURING down rain and insanely windy! I think this was the coldest I’ve ever been here, but I didn’t care because LOOK AT THAT VIEW!!

The bridge from the famous scene in P.S. I Love You. I think it was the prettiest bridge I’ve ever seen hah!
Wet hair and windburned faces…we don’t care hah

It’s May and I have a sweater, a hoodie, a coat, and my infamous pink beanie on….oh Irish weather how I love you (*eyeroll*)

“okay lets take a serious one now”

It’s times like these where I look back on when I first moved here and was SO worried about making friends. I remember calling my mom feeling really discouraged about my future here and all I can say is, “what was I thinking”?! I have met some of the best people on the planet here, ones that I know will be lifelong friends, and I just can’t imagine what my life would be like had I not met them. I’m a person who deeply values friendships, and the ones I have made here are so, so special to me. It’s crazy the ways the universe brings people together!

Anyways, so that’s the Wicklow Mountains! One out of the other billion beautiful places to visit here in Ireland! Gosh I just love this country so much! Until next time…

Love, Kaite.
