Germany Reunion

Five years and 5,000 miles later, I finally made it to Germany to see a good friend of mine that I met back in high school! It was sooo nice getting to catch up after all that time (including laughing at all the hilarious photos from high school hah)! We always talked about me visiting one day, and I was beginning to think I never would. Then, after I decided to move to Ireland, I knew I had to make my way there!

We spent two days in Bremen roaming around and doing some fun things. We went to the Bremen Universum which was both awesome and hilarious! It’s an interactive museum, and I seriously laughed so hard at some of the things in there! We ended up going to the North Sea one day which was really cool because the tide is really low during the middle of the day, so you can walk out towards the sea for quite a ways. The next day we took a day trip to Hamburg. We walked around and did a bit of sight seeing, ate some ice cream by the pier, and then hopped on a river cruise while we waited for the rain to stop!

Anyways, enough chatting! Here are a bunch of photos I took while I was visiting. Germany is so much more beautiful than I ever expected, and I’m so happy to be able to share it all with you!

The Bremen Town Musicians statue. Apparently if you rub both hands on its feet it will bring you luck. Fingers crossed!

I swear Bremen has the cutest little cobblestone streets I’ve ever seen!

I still laugh so hard at this picture haha! It was an optical illusion so he’s not actually sitting on a giant chair!

Laughing out of fear because I’m about to be shocked by this weird contraption!

Hamburg is know as the “Venice of the North”. There are these cute little canals everywhere!

Me- “I can’t eat a whole pizza”. Leon- “Okay we’ll split it”. *waitress brings us a pizza the size of Mars.*

I really had the best time in Germany. There’s nothing better than being able to see a new country from a locals prospective. It’s crazy to think that five years ago I’d only dreamed of going abroad and being able to visit Germany. It’s pretty amazing how this life of mine has turned out. I’m so so so grateful to be able to travel and do all of these things that I’m doing, and I’m so happy I was finally able to make it to see Leon! Until next time Germany!

Love, Kaite.
