So, I think Belgium is officially my favorite country ever! I seriously loved it there! I found a flight from Hamburg (where I was staying in Germany) to Brussels for €5, yes thats like six USD, so I couldn’t pass it up! Going to Belgium was never a high priority for me, but now after visiting I’m wondering why it’s not on everyones list! I just can’t get over how absolutely stunning this place was! My flight got in around 9am on Wednesday, so after I checked into my hostel, I went off to explore! I think I must have gotten lost at least a hundred times, but I always seemed to end up at the Grande Place. It’s basically a big square surrounded by these amazing buildings and cute little restaurants. The first day I was there I pretty much just walked around and saw all of the iconic sights in Brussels; the Grande Palace, Town Hall, Manneken- Pis (which is literally a statue of a boy peeing??? sooo confused as to why this is so famous), Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula, and the Galeries St Hubert. I swear every building here is so elegant and beautiful!
The rest of the time I pretty much just ate loads and loads of Belgian waffles and frites, which, I can confirm are out of this world!! I swear Europe really is a foodies paradise!
Anyways, here are some photos that I captured while I was in Brussels! Enjoy!
So that’s Brussels, Belgium! A place that totally stole my heart the moment I arrived! If I ever got the chance to go back, I would do it in a heartbeat! I totally encourage anyone who wants to visit Europe to make a trip over to Belgium! I’ll have a blog post up tomorrow about Brugge, a village I took a day trip to while I was in Belgium. I hope you’re all having a wonderful week! Lots of love from Ireland!
