This week was the best week! I got back from Amsterdam Saturday night (new post coming on that soon!), and on Sunday I had a picnic with some friends by the river. It’s been really hot in Ireland the past week (yes I consider high 70’s hot now hah), so I’ve been spending loads of time outside in the sun and I’m loving it! There’s a really great pub in Navan called the Bru House, and after our picnic we went there and just chatted for hours! My friend Yaiza is moving back home this weekend, so we’ve been trying to squeeze in as much time as we can before she leaves!
Monday we took the kids to Clogherhead Beach and spent a few hours playing in the ocean and making sandcastles. The water was surprisingly not that cold, so it was nice to splash around in it with the kiddos. Seeing Thea play in the sand had to be one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen haha! She would lay down and roll in it, or try and push all the sand up to her chest, and of course taste a bit. I was laughing so hard just watching her!
Tuesday was another really great day. The weather was still so nice, so when the girls got out of school we had a little picnic in the backyard and played for a bit. Then my friend (another AuPair) called me and asked if we wanted to go to the park. So we packed up our stuff, layered on the sunscreen, and were on our way! Turns out the park was quite the walk, so as a bribe to get them to keep walking, I told them we’d get ice cream on the way home! And as you can see in the pictures below… they got their ice cream! They were so worn out by the time we got home, but dang it just felt like such a fun, productive day!
Later that night, I met up with some friends and had a little farewell party for another good friend of mine, Laura, who is moving back home on Thursday. I was a little bummed the past couple of weeks thinking about all my friends here that are moving back home during the summer. I can’t imagine how different my life would be here had I not met them all! Laura and Yaiza, you both have such a special place in my heart, and I will miss you loads!
And today is also a really great day! I’m actually writing this post from the airport, and can you guess where I’m off to this time??? AMERICA! I’m off to Missouri for one week to spend some time with family and do a few things, and I am so excited to see everyone!
This week really was so much fun! I got to spend it with lots of friends and family and I’m so blown away with how incredible this life of mine is! Anyways, I’ll see you next week Ireland! Until next time…
